Quick 101 in 1,001 update
For those of you who even care about my 101 things in 1,001 days journey, my days are all done... And yet my items were not. I thought I would be fairly disappointed in it, but I did a bunch of stuff off my list and enjoyed doing it. I think I might do the list again, but make sure I have a concrete list ready before I start the project. I'm postin from my phone right now but later I will do a full recap on just what I accomplished during my 1,001 days

Updated that list thing.
After my last post I went and updated my 101 in 1,001 list. Both the one in the original 101 in 1,001 list and the one on my side bar. Now I am tired and going to bed... nighty night!

That list thing??
Remember that list thing, you know, the 101 in 1,001 list. Sigh. I'm sucking at it right now. I just read through a few of them. I am going to have to go through a lot of them and edit them. One thing I did find funny was wanting to double my blog posts this year over last year. Yeah, not going to happen. I don't think I thought that one through. I had 85 posts last year, so doubled is 170. That makes aprox 14 blog posts a month. I don't really think I'm that interesting! lol. Also, considering with one month left of 2010 and my current blog post count at 65, I think we might have some trouble. haha! Maybe I'll annoy you over this next month and try to get over 85. hmmm
I also don't think I will reach my goal of 30 (or 35?) books in 2010. I don't remember the last time I picked up a book. I would really like to get back into it. I want to add more fitness goals, tweak the ones currently there, oh about a million things I haven't thought of yet. I have less than a year left to finish them, I really hope I will be able to get most of them accomplished.
well, off to check out the list.

The 101 in 1,001 update.
Well, I re-did, updated and other stuff with my list, then had to paste it from microsoft word which of course deleted all the spacing and formatting I had on word. So I re-formatted the spaces and re-put colors back in. Sigh. Now I'm tired. lol.
I will be updating the side bar probably tomorrow. I created a new tab at the top of the page for the list of books I've read so far this year, which I will also need to update, again, not happening tonight. Had very little sleep today so I' m not going to be up much later. I have noted the books i've read in my posts so it will be a little easier to go back through and note them down.
Today is (well, I guess yesterday) was the 20 month anniversary of Austin's birth. I can't believe that in 4 short months my little man will be 2 years old. Sigh. It's crazy! I had all these plans for an awesome toy story party but I don't know where we will even be so I don't know if the toy story party is going to go on. Who knows at this point. But yeah, 4 more months. In-freaking-sane

Quick post.
Alright. I have been sorely slacking on the 101 in 1,001 list. I've still got my list in the back of my head and thinking about how to finish more items. I've been trying to figure out how to complete my Ontario Goals before moving on to Alberta. Sadly, some of the goals will be removed and re-worked. It's my list, I can remove as I want to! lol. I've also read a lot of books that I need to update. Tonight will be my night to do this since my craft table is in a bit of a disarray because of window repairs. Tomorrow I have to sit down and make an order for thank you cards so I may not be on for the next few days.

Hello!!
Um yeah, I kind of suck at this updating thing. lol.
How about as a consolation I show you some awesome cuteness?
Getting ready for summer!
Meeting a horse up close and personal for the first time. He called it a cow. lol.
Playing with his new wagon Papa got him
This is how he winks. so adorable.
And finally, Austin loving his new big boy bed.
Speaking of the big boy bed though, I think we will be transitioning soon. He's runing out of room in his crib!! it's fine when he's all curled up into a ball, but if he stretches out there isn't much room left. This big boy bed fits a single mattress so it will definately fit him for years to come. We got it for a great deal at a yardsale. This bed is priced at aprox $400 and we got it for $50. I'm very happy with the deal we got. There are few little scratches in the bed but I think Austin will do much more damage. haha. I did feel a little bad though because as we were packing up the bed the previous occupant came and stood on the curb with the saddest look on his face that his car bed was being taken away. His mom assured him that another little boy would get to love it as much as he did. I still felt like a big meanie though.
I am diving into the planning of the Jack N Jill for Dave's brother, less than a month to go and it's lots of fun. I can't wait to get everything put together and enjoy the hawaiian themed night.
*101 in 1,001 update* Well, I've read a few books, House Rules by Jodi Piccoult, How to Teach filthy rich girls by Zoey Dean, No Strings Attached by Clare Dowling and I'm in the middle of Going it Alone by Clare Dowling. I may have some books before the Jodi Piccoult book that I haven't posted on here yet, I will have to go back and look. Dave and I had an awesome date night last week, dinner and a movie. It was really enjoyable, we went and saw Date night with Steve Carrell and Tina Fey, which also adds to my see at least one movie that starts with every letter of the alphabet. That list also needs to be updated, I'm not doing to well with all my lists!! haha.

Start to the day
I started the morning by walking into my son's room to find his blankets and stuffed animal on the floor. Right beside his pj's and diaper. Sure enough, he peed out the slats of the crib all over his blanket. At lease he didn't poop. lol.
He tries to say fishies now and puppy. I know when he means kitty.
Today I am headed to a stamp a stack to make some fun cards. Can't wait!
**101 in 1,001 update**
Dave and I went on a date night
I read the penny pincher's club by Sarah Strohmeyer. It was a good read very quick. I read it within a few hours.
I'm still in the middle of reading the hour I first believed.
Ok, to be honest, I saved this post to finish it later and finish my updates to my 101 in 1,001 list but now I can't remember where I was going with it so I shall post it now. This was written saturday morning.

an Update...
Yes it's been a while. I have been keeping very busy. I promise to share some adorable pictures of our little man.
Austin is getting bigger and bigger. I can't believe that somedays he's so big. it's crazy! He is babbling a lot more but also learning how to say words. I just have to keep reminding myself to enunciate words and encourage him to say everything now. He says mama, dada, uh oh, and just started saying - more, and grandma. I asked him to say please the other day and he gave me a kiss. I think that is a good alternative to please for now. lol. I keep asking though, can you say ______? Today I tried to get "fish" out of him however he only made the F sound of it.
Austin hates wearing socks. he keeps pulling them off all the time. However he doesn't just leave them lying around, he's been wearing them on his hands instead. It's really cute to see him trying to do things with socks on his hands.
Dave is home, back to work and we are settling into our ways again. I will admit, I do miss spreading out in bed some nights. lol. I'm trying to expand my cooking skills, we will see how that goes. lol.
Here are some pics of Austin. First up, some Easter pictures.
Austin getting ready to go out to GG's for dinner. lol.

His super awesome pants.

Not wanting to pose with Logan to see their matching cute Easter outfits. (this freak out was because Logan was touching him and also had some kicking and pushing of Logan. Poor Logan. lol)

Cutie Pie!

Egg hunt!!

Chilling with mommy's sunglasses.

Trying to put on his rubber boots.

Yay check out my good job!

And, some videos for you.

I don't have anything in it yet, but it's set up. the address is http://kristinscraftythings.etsy.com/ I have also set up a blog with pictures of my current craft things, it's http://www.creations-by-kristin.blogspot.com/ Feel free to check out the blog and leave some feedback!!
I've read 3 more books. I read Dave Ramsey's Total Money makeover. We are working on doing a money makeover in our house and hopefully this will help us out.
I also read Water for elephants by Sara Gruen. It was a great read and I loved the story.
Last book is Still Alice by Lisa Genova. It was a good book, however incredibly sad. Glad I was done it but like I said, I did enjoy it.
I also just started the Hour I first Believed by Wally Lamb. So far it's really good.
*We went to the Zoo a few weeks ago with My cousin Sarah and her kiddies. We had a blast that day. Only one more zoo trip next year to reach my once per year goal.
*Last week My mom, my grandma, helen and I went into Toronto to see Jersey boys. I loved it, so much fun!
*I bought myself flowers last week, just cuz. AND they are still alive. woo hoo!
*rearranged our bedroom.

I'm a slacker.
I still have to do my March 1st goals for 101 in 1,001. Thank you for the reminder Rachel!! However, I don't have enough of them. I need to think of some more, but until then and I do an official post with all my updates, here are the 3 I already have done.
double blog posts for 2010 (85 in 2009)
Set up super awesome craft area in basement
Take 10 (or more) pictures at least 2 days a week for a month (0/8)
For my 101 in 1,001 I have started my movies from a-z, however, again, I'm a slacker and I am not going to update them today.
However, I will post some pictures from out trip to GG's and Big Papa's today. Austin played in the puddles. At first he was a little hesitant but in no time at all was splish sploshing away through the yard. He fell down quite a bit, but hey, playing in the water and falling is fun!! He also did a face plant into the muddy water.... Yes, there is a picture of that one. I'm also going to post some videos of playing today, well, because I'm so excited that I finally figured out how to post them. haha.
This morning I went in to get Austin and he was standing in his crib. Buck Naked. Got his sleeper AND diaper off. I was talking with my mom on the phone and said "yes, no pee on the sheets!!" Then she pointed out he could have been standing against the crib and peed through the bars onto the floor. Well of course.. he did. We will see if he does this tomorrow too. (and, I did take a picture to send to his daddy to get a kick out of but that's definately not going online.)
so, here are the pics and the videos for you to enjoy.

Houston... We have:
medicine. Oh Dear lord, please let it help and make my baby not sick. I kid you not that Austin started Daycare Dec 17th, and by the end of that week was sick. The last week in january and the First week in February were the only 2 weeks he has not been sick. It was kind of an embarrasing dr's appt today. I got mini lectured by the dr for being almost an hour late when really, it was the new secretary who forgot about us for over 45 minutes in the waiting room. I was frustrated that I was left that long in the waiting room, plus all hopped up on mommy guilt that my child was STILL sick. Once the dr realized we had been forgotten and I wasn't that late to the appt he told me that if I am ever waiting for more then 5-10 minutes to go remind the receptionist that I am there because I should never have to wait, let alone more then 5-10 minutes. *Insert gush at how much I really love my dr!*
Then he said, what's going on. And that's when the embarrasment started. I bawled. Lol. I really did. He told me to sit down and tell him what's going on. In between gasps and cries I told him just how frustrated I was with Austin still being sick, going for 3 hours of crying in the middle of the night because he's sick and can't breathe and there is nothing I can do to help it, Dave still being out of the province and me doing the night times and most daytimes alone, and my frustrations over my previous job about them being so sucky about me having to call in because Austin was sick then got me sick. So, we have amoxacillen (however you spell it) and the dr said to come back in 10 days and either he will be better and get his shots (that he was supposed to get 2 weeks ago at his last appt, but suprise suprise, was sick) or if he is still sick he will be going to see a pediatrician. I'm banking on being better.. please please please.
We have some sort of a plan worked out. Dave will be home on the 16th - ish. They are leaving Alberta on the 13th. I can't wait. Too bad that he will miss the 2 days that I am going to need him the most, the 14th and 15th, as I have to go into the hospital on the 15th and need to prep on the 14th. I know there is no way I'm going to be able to keep up with Austin either of those days and on the monday Daycare is closed for March break. If you're curious as to what's going on the 15th, message me and let me know... There is just some TMI I don't want broadcast everywhere.
101 in 1,001 update: Finished reading Who's wedding is it anyways by Melissa Senate. I bought the book last year in hopes of actually reading it and getting nowhere. I have read the solomon sisters wise up by Melissa Senate and enjoyed it so I thought I would read this one. It's pretty predictable... but was a very quick read.

First Playground trip
Well, the first time we went to the playground in our Townhouse complex. They tore out the old one that was in dire need of repair and put in a new one. Not really a fan. However, I did get Austin sliding away and he seemed to enjoy it. Here are some cute pictures from today.
He kept wanting to sit on the slide at first, then I showed him how to slide.
Showing off his super cute new Cars Shoes.
Seconds after this pic was taken he gave me a heart attack as he tried to take another step towards the slide. Ugh. Really glad I was right there to say stop and sit down. *whew*
Great Action shots. You can see how much fun he's having!
And then going back for more!
We almost have the waving down. After I don't know at least 6 months of trying to get Austin to wave he's started to pick it up. This is kind of exciting. lol. It's a 1 in 50 chance he will wave on his own, but if you start his hand waving he will continue. Of course that's when he's in the mood.
Also, he's starting to get the concept of Kleenex - other then to rip out of the box and shred all over the living room. Tonight he took a kleenex, put it to his mouth and blew. Not quite it's intended purpose but I'm sure he'll learn that soon enough. Especially if he continues down his sick path. This week we still have the runny nose and lots of chest congestion. I've got the vapourizer going full blast in his room, which I don't think he enjoys so much because he's been up coughing and screaming, making it known he's not happy through the night the past few nights. I know the coughing is good for him to get it cleared out, but the screaming and crying I could do without. We have a dr's appt on thursday, which from the sounds of it he won't be better for, so we will probably have to re-schedule and get his shots another day.
Finally, I am sooooo happy to announce: My husband is finally coming home!! We are expecting him sometime between the 16th and the 21st. Depends on what day he's done work and what day his dad flies out to Alberta to drive home with him. This excites me to no end. Although, on one hand, I'm not looking forward to giving up the bed I've had all to myself for the past 8 months.
Lastly: 101 in 1,001 update: Read another book: Working Stiff by Grant Stoddard Plus, I rented and watched an entire tv series I have never seen before. I got Freaks and Geeks. I honestly thought this was a totally different show that I had seen a few episodes of years ago.. However it wasn't. It did turn out to be a pretty good show, even though the entire series was only 18 episodes long. At times it was a little over the top acting but I did enjoy it anyways.

Again.
Ugh. Austin has a fever... AGAIN. I guess I should be thankful, we made it 2 whole weeks without him getting sick. He started Daycare the middle of December and has been sick every week with something else since. Doing this alone has worn me out. Non-stop sickness. blah. Tonight he was unusually cuddly (which considering lately he's been very cuddly) and I noticed he was getting a bit warm. When we were getting ready for bed I took his temp and he was at 101.1 Fantastic.
His skin has also broken out in dry patches again this winter. Poor boy. It's gotten so bad. There was a spot on the back of his head that he had scratched so much that it had started bleeding. I got a refill of his medicated cream and have started using it in full force. Hopefully it clears up within the next few days and gets better.
Onto the good news. I think Austin said book the other day. He walked up to me with his elmo book in his hand and said baaaaaa. I'm going with that means book. lol.
Tomorrow we have a dr's appt for Austin. We can see how much he's grown in the past 3 months. After that we don't have too many plans so far for the week. I really want to go and check out some of the indoor play places in the area now that Austin is old enough to appreciate them. Thursday we are headed to a movie with Devon and Pierce. That's about all we have planned for this week.
*101 in 1,000 update * I finished reading Lust Lizard of Melancholy lane and finished my *secret* goal.

I'm back!
Alright. I'm very behind with posting especially with my 101 in 1,001. Don't worry, I havent' forgotten about it. I have been working on it even though I haven't been updating. I updated my original list, and once I'm done writing this post I will be updating my side panel. It's been just over a year since I started.
I've completed 16 things, have 8 things on the go and was unable to complete 2 things (I didn't finish my 25 books last year and I don't need to re-size my wedding rings anymore.) Here is my updated list: http://wipe-your-paws.blogspot.com/2009/01/101-in-1001.html
The new goals I put in were:
finish recipe cards for Margaret
Finish redecorating the living room.
Do a 'day in the life' picture set of Austin at least every 6 months.
15 date nights
get back into girl guides
take 2 classes per semester to finish bookeeping certificate
watch casablanca
watch a movie for every letter of the alphabet
finish all adam's filing
create logo for adam
re-paint the 3 shelves from the garage to hang
re-arrange bedroom
The 2 books I've read so far this year are Snuff by Chuck Palahniuk and I re-read the last summer (of me and you) by Anne Brashares. I'm in the middle of reading the Lust Lizard of Melancholy lane by Christopher Moore. Should be done that in the next few days.
My list of books from last year, which I am sure I have forgotten a few of them is:
1. Motherhood - 3 short stories by different Authors 3* (I didn't realize it was a harlequin book when I bought it)
2. All or nothing - Claire Cross 4 1/2* - I really enjoyed this book.. it was a light read and I got swept up in the story.
3. The funeral planner - Lynn Isneberg 4* - I also liked this story but it took a while to get into it.
4. The Solomon Sisters wise up - Melissa Senate 4* - This book kept my attention throughout. It was a very nice story of 3 sisters coming together.
5. The Manny 4* - A woman hires then falls in love with her Manny.
6. Every Boy's got one - Meg Cabot 4* - the main character goes to italy to be a witness in her friend's wedding. Quick read.
7. can't remember the name, sorry!
8. Size 12 is not fat - Meg Cabot 3.5*
9. Twilight - Stephenie Meyer 5* - Got sucked into the book and loved it
10. New Moon - Stephenie Meyer 5* - Same as the first book.
11. Eclipse - Sephenie Meyer 4.5* - Started too loose momentum and found myself drifting a bit during reading.
12. Breaking Dawn - Stephenie Meyer 4* - I was actually wondering when this book would end. I just couldn't get into it.
13. Pretty in Plaid - Jen Lancaster 5* - Very funny and truly enjoyed reading this.
14. Bright lights Big Ass - Jen lancaster 5* - Just as funny as the previous book!
15. Tulle Little Tulle late - Kimberly Llewellyn 4* - Pretty good easy read but got bored partway through.

17. Finger Lickin Fifteen - Janet Evanovich 5* - Just as good as the other 14 books, love this series!
I've been trying to take more time away from the internet and tv and get back into scrapbooking and reading. Getting away from TV hasn't been that hard. We cancelled our cable last July, then about a month ago the TV in our room broke and the dvd player on our main level is tempermental and decides when it wants to work. So in that respect it's been fairly easy to eliminate sitting in front of the tv. But Oh do I ever miss it. I am so lost on everything celebrity and can't even tell you how many kids the Duggars have now. (haha.)
The internet.. well facebook is still my number news source (sadly) If it wasn't for facebook I may not have even known about the earthquakes in haiti or the fake death of Bill Cosby. Then there are my 'chat boards'. I've made some really great friends there that I don't want to just give up. I think they have been my saviour. However more on that after. This post is mainly to update my 101 list... so... I'm off to update the sidebar then I will write more after.

October!
I can't believe it's october already! I can't wait to get Austin all dressed up in his halloween costume. I think we are going pumpkin picking this weekend. For the past 2 years I have hung some lights and handed out candy but never got around to getting pumpkins. Last year while sitting on my front step handing out candy (because it would have been way too much pain to get up and down every time the door rang) in a blanket with my gigantic belly I swore that this year we would have pumpkins. So this year we're going to get pumpkins. I also can't wait to get some adorable pictures of Austin walking around the pumkin patch.
Austin is also 11 months old next week. I really need to get a move on his birthday party plans, I want to make some super adorable invitations!
I also need to go through my 101 in 1,001 list and update it. I'm sure there have been a few things I've finished and haven't marked off. I know the last book I read was finger lickin fifteen by Janet Evanovich. I better get back to reading if I want to get my 25 done by december 31st!!!

Happy long weekend!
Happy Long weekend everyone!
Yesterday we went to the Bowmanville zoo with Dave's parents. We had a great time and so did Austin. Except for one point, a goat tried to eat him. The goat stuck his head through the fence and tried to nibble on Austin but couldn't grab anything so he finally got a bite into his pocket on his pants and tried to pull Austin back to the fence. He was not happy with that and started crying. Then one of the baby goats got out of the fence and was wandering around so since it was the same size as buster the cat we tried to put him beside it for a picture. He cried. He may end up with a huge fear of goats for the rest of his life now..lol.
We bought some of the corn out of the machines and I got a few pictures of me holding out Austin's hand and getting the animals to eat off his hand. He mainly wanted to eat the corn himself. He would just sit for the longest time and stare at the animals. There weren't many tears so I'm assuming he had fun. As usual, here are some pictures.
Feeding the animals
Austin Grandma and the baby goat
Telling the llama he needs some dental work.
Hitching a ride on Grandpa
Enjoying every minute of it.
An animal trying to get the corn out of Austin's clenched hands.
succeeding in getting it out.
After the zoo we went back to Dave's parents and played in the backyard. Austin had a blast playing ball and we got some great pics of him trying to stand.

*101 in 1,001 update: I have finished pretty in plaid by Jennifer Lancaster. Very funny, thanks to vicki who reccomended the books and let me borrow them. I am working on another one of her books as we speak. I've also been somewhere other than ontario or Quebec (my alberta trip a few weeks ago) and I think that's it. I will update more as I do them!*
