Pet peeve

I just need to get this pet peeve out. We decided to take in candy cane lane in Edmonton this weekend. It was a nice warm night for walking. Basically, it's 8 blocks of houses decorated with lights and other Christmas items. It's been going every Christmas since 1968. I couldn't even imagine. Anyways, we parked and started walking. Like I said it was a great night to walk. You can drive but they prefer that people walk. I have no issues with those who chose to drive..... Except those with the following kids. Or I guess I should note people with the following young kids. I kid you not, while walking I saw....

A rather large pick up truck. With 2 children standing on the back seat with their heads out the sunroof. Or the kid hanging halfway out the back window of a car. Come on people!!!!! I don't care if you are driving 1 kmph. You can still get into an accident and your children could get seriously hurt. I wanted to just start yelling at people to buckle their kids up!!!! This wasn't a one way, do 5km/hr and everyone doing the same thing. It was a still fully functioning road with stop signs and 2 way traffic and side roads. It's just not a smart thing to do!!! If your kids can't see the lights while buckled in, then walk. Don't put your child's life in danger.

Alberta drivers part 2

Not sure if anyone remembers my last post about alberta drivers, but here is post number 2. Again, I will apologize to those Albertans who don't drive like douchebags, but this is what I notice on a whole.

First, the parking is Starting to not get on my nerves.... AS MUCH. Lol. Some people still amaze me. I am a crazy anal straight Parker. It will annoy me the whole time I am out of the car if I'm parked crooked. It boggles my mind that people can park so crooked and be fine with it.

Then there is the speed thing. Out of 100% I would say 25% of the drivers are speedy demons who zoom in and out of traffic. ( apparently they aren't afraid of photo radar tickets) 25% of people go the speed limit or a smidgen over. Then there's the other 50%. They dont even come close to doing the speed limit. The speed limit on hwy 16 is 110. I do 100 or 105 and I am passing people like I am speeding! I just don't get it! In Ontario if you aren't doing at least 105 onthe 401 people are riding your bumper and flipping you the bird. Crazy.

Then, there is the writing. This is actually a funny because cars here get really dirty. Salt isn't used on the roads to prevent slipping. Dirt and rocks are. So cars it seems are always dirty. Today while driving to our dr appt I saw a car with f$&* u written in the dirt. The driver obviously tried to make it seem like it wasn't written there, but you could still tell. Not going to lie, it made me giggle. The other night driving home I saw written onthe back of a dirty pick up truck "I wish my wife were this dirty" I really wish I got a picture of that, it definitely made my night. Haha. Oh haha. I keep giggling to myself here. I wonder if the guys wife ever saw that. Lol

Now, learning to drive it was drilled into my head, if you are onthe highway and coming up to an on-ramp with a car trying to get on, move into the next lane so they can get on. To those who started driving in Alberta, were you not told this??? I can't even begin to tell you how many times jerk drivers have stayed in the lane despite no one being beside them. And the on-ramps here seem to be much shorter in dome areas. I hate those drivers. Ugh. Hate.

I'm sure I will have way more vents about drivers in the future, but for now I'm good. Haha.

Take a deep deep breath

And drive.

I need to vent. And I will start with an apology to everyone I could possibly offend with this vent. I am going to generally sweep all people, and those who don't fall under my venting judging umbrella I apologize.

But... PEOPLE IN ALBERTA CAN NOT PARK! Omg. At first I was like, oh wow, somone doesn't know how to park. Then I was like, really, more people who don't park properly?

Tonight however.... Holy Hell. We went to Walmart. There was someone parked across the aisle from us. He was parked well over a foot over his parking spot. He was parked 2 spots away from the cart Corral. He unloaded his purchases into the passenger side of his truck, walked his cart to the BACK OF HIS TRUCK, then walked around to the driver side of the car, hit the car squished into the spot beside him with his door, then drove away. REALLY?!?!?! REALLY?!?! How much of a douchebag to do you have to be?!?!?!

I went to the Tri Centre today and no freaking word of a lie over half of the cars in the parking lot were not parked straight or in one spot. Walmart was the same. Parking in your parking spot is one driving thing that irritates me way more then it should. I try to let it go but I just can't do it. Once the snow starts I think I am going to go even more crazy about it. We will see what happens. I think I might need a bit more happy in my happy pills. Sigh.

Alright, as promised, I'm here again.

Today = Waste. I should not have napped. lol. It started with "I won't really nap, I'll just lay in bed and 'relax' while reading'. Then it turned into 'well, I'm already in bed, why not have just a little nap' I set my alarm for an hour later.... Alarm goes off.... I hit snooze. I was tired. Finally 2 hours after starting my nap I decide I should get up. I then drift in and out of conciousness for the next 2 hours until crap, I have to go get Austin. I still don't feel very rested and I'm thinking I'm going to go to bed soon. No idea why I'm so tired, and for those smarty pants out there....No, I'm not pregnant. Dave's last visit home did not co-incide with baby making time. *whew*

Now, I need to vent a bit. I have no idea WTF my next door neighbours are doing. I swear to god they decided to tear out all the walls in their house and redesign it. I swear it!! However I doubt it since I have not seen wall debris coming out or new drywall going in. I know there are downsides to living in townhouses because you can hear your neighbours. Well, for the most part it's pretty quiet. Our other next door neighbour's son apparently makes crazy noise in their basement and in the 2 1/2 years we've been here I've never heard him. However French next door neighbours.. well, I think when they built our place they forgot insulation between our house. I can hear when they vaccum. Although I think the reason I hear them all the time is because they do it at like 11pm. Mr French neighbour is a professional painter (don't get me started about the storage in our attached-to-each-other garage of all his supplies that are more then likely flamable) and I swear they re-paint their house once a month. I know, because I can hear the rollers on the walls in the living room. I figured out they were rollers by pressing my ear to the wall and listening, I'm at least 99% sure that noise is paint rollers.

However, back to my original vent. I don't know what they are doing in their house. They've been doing it for over a week now. I have heard thumping of things over there, rolling of paint (or so I believe) and finally, hammering. And lots of it. Non-stop. Most times, it bugs me, but it's not disrupting us so whatever. I've tuned it out now. I was soooo thankful that Austin was at Dave's parents on the weekend because it was unbelievably noisy during nap time. BUT, tonight it started around 7pm. I thought, whatever, as long as you're done by bedtime. I put Austin down hoping he won't notice the hammering. 9pm, Austin's awake and crying. He's never up that early after putting him down. If he wakes up it's around midnight. I go upstairs, settle him down. The hammering is still going on but quietly. I figure it's not that loud he will sleep through it. 10:40, Austin's up again, hammering still happening. I'm pissed. I walk to our connecting living room wall and start banging my fist on the wall. I know they can hear it, my picture is shaking on the wall. Go upstairs, settle austin again. It's now been 30 min and I haven't heard anything since.

You better believe though I will be writing them a note and leaving it at their door tomorrow. There isn't really much point of going to yell at them since mr and mrs French don't understand much english. I just want to throatpunch them. However, I will not. I will rant about them here and give them dirty looks. No more smiles and waves from me. You want to be a douche, I will be a bitch. I have put up with it long enough. They need to understand that they do have neighbours who can hear the loud noises you are making.

Gah... Anywho...

Me and Austin went to the park yesterday after daycare. He had a blast, and it killed some time before dinner. He was sooo tired last night from all the fresh air (he also spent some time at the park with daycare) and was out for the night. woo hoo!!

Finally got a few pictures of me and the little man.

The second pic... well, he just wanted to go back to the slide... sigh.

I'm trying to add in a video of him from the park... let's hope this works..
