Seriously, my kid, and many other kids crack me up with some of the things they come up with.
I ask him something and lately his answer starts with "weeeeelllllllllllllll" like he's saying ok mom, I'll tell you but it's a long story. Seriously cracks me up.
And even though he's been saying it for a while, every time he calls the iPod the pock pock or tells me he's playing wing wing birds (angry birds) it makes me smile.

Houston, we have a reader!
My son is so adorable!! He's started to read. Before I would try to read with him and even get him to look at books and he wouldn't. He still will only sit for maybe 2-3 pages while I read to him but now he reads on his own. Instead of it being super quiet and me in a panic thinking "uh oh, what is he getting into?" I look over and he's sitting on the floor with a book in his lap studying every page. Then he will turn the page and go through the whole book. He got a set of Thomas the Tank Engine books for his birthday that he's just shown an interest in and will sit and read them.
He also has a thomas the Tank Engine sheet for his crib, (which is a little big for the mattress since he managed to pull it off and throw it on the floor after his nap this afternoon) and yesterday when Dave got him up from his nap he said choo choo. He also said this morning baby.
The other day he sat and read through an entire book, then looked at me and started waving the book around and talking very excitedly in his super cute babble. I'm guessing he was telling me all about the pictures he had just read.

Start to the day
I started the morning by walking into my son's room to find his blankets and stuffed animal on the floor. Right beside his pj's and diaper. Sure enough, he peed out the slats of the crib all over his blanket. At lease he didn't poop. lol.
He tries to say fishies now and puppy. I know when he means kitty.
Today I am headed to a stamp a stack to make some fun cards. Can't wait!
**101 in 1,001 update**
Dave and I went on a date night
I read the penny pincher's club by Sarah Strohmeyer. It was a good read very quick. I read it within a few hours.
I'm still in the middle of reading the hour I first believed.
Ok, to be honest, I saved this post to finish it later and finish my updates to my 101 in 1,001 list but now I can't remember where I was going with it so I shall post it now. This was written saturday morning.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Just getting a quick update in while Austin is finishing his nap (ok, maybe he's playing with his gloworm but he's being quiet still) We've had a busy few weeks. I only have 3 weeks left of my course, then I have to write my exam!! eek! kind of nervous. however all the assignments I've done so far have come back as 10/10 so maybe I shouldn't be? Plus, I got into a craft sale at a church last minute so I did that last weekend, managed to sell over half of the cards so now I need to make more. I only have a few birthday and no thank you cards left so I have to get busy! Our church craft sale is on May 8th, and the last day for my course is May 10th, so of course everything is squished in there. lol. I'm not too worried since I only have to finish up one assignment then read the next chapter and do that assignment.
Austing seems to be getting more words out. He says socks (sox) kind of says shoes, and I think he's saying what's that and points at things. Hopefully he gets a few more out there soon.
Today we weeded the garden in preparation to plant the bulbs I bought and Austin played with the weeds I pulled out...... until I made the mistake of showing him a worm. I thought, he's never seen one, lets see what he does. I put the worm on my hand and held it up for him to see. He walked over, bent over and looked, then picked the worm up and tried to eat it. Sigh. Of course I said no and took the worm away but he kept trying to find it in the dirt after that. I do have to wonder though what he would have done had I let him eat the worm. Can you die from eating worms?? lol. I know there is the book/movie how to eat fried worms, but still... no worms for my little boy!! (at least not until he's older and I don't know he ate it. lol.)
Well, I better get upstairs and get sleeping beauty changed.

Long time gone.
Well hello again.
I've been busy with work. I've finished my training class and now I am in "abay" which is on the phones but I have to reach certain goals before I can move on to regular work (which for me is better schedules) and for the rest of the people in my class it means a raise. The schedule sucks big time. We have sunday monday off which is fine, but we are working 1:30-10:30 and then saturday shifts usually start and end later. This shift is making child care arrangements a little difficult. It's not like I can just not worry because Dave will be home to watch him all night. I have to get someone to either take Austin for the night or hang out at my house until I'm done work. It sucks.
Friday night after work some of us from our training class went out to boston Pizza afterwards to have a drink. Austin was spending the night at Grandma and Grandpa R's so I went along. It was fun, we chatted, enjoyed some food (mmmm nachos!) then I got home around 1am. Last night Austin had another sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa R's. Because I didn't have to rush home to relieve a babysitter I went with a classmate to the car wash. They had left a cooler in the back of their car full of water and a few left over beer and it tipped over and created puddles in the back. We went and used the wet vaccuum and spent 2 hours trying to get the water out of the back of the car. I got home around 2:30. I slept in through church this morning because I was a little tired so I figured I should update here a bit then get moving since church is over soon.
Austin turned 10 months old last weekend..... And got baby measles (aka Roseola) He broke out in spots sunday morning. His 10 month old pictures are coming. They were taken very late unfortunately. Sunday we were dealing with all the spots and the dr's then we had to pick Dave up from the airport. Monday was a busy day complete with my first day of night school. Tuesday and wednesday we were out of town at a funeral and thursday I was back to work and dave was back to the airport. I finally got the pictures taken yesterday but he didn't really have a lot of spots left.
We still have no teeth, and still have very little hair. Maybe he will have some hair by his second birthday.. lol. Austin is getting closer and closer to walking. I went to put him in the bath last week and when I put him on the floor in the bathroom he stayed crouched down, picked up his bath toys then stood himself up and stood there for a good 2 minutes while I got his bath stuff ready. Once I turned the water on though he grabbed the tub and tried to look in. He is also starting to take a few steps while holding on to only one hand instead of freezing up as soon as you let go of one of his hands. He has mastered closing things. He has a pop up toy at Dave's parents and he won't push the buttons to make the animals pop up but he loves to put the lids back down. And, He loves cupboards. He will sit and open and close cupboards for ever. Unfortunately the closing ends up as slamming and it gets pretty noisy. If there is something bothering him or in his way he pushes it out of his way, and he can turn pages in books (and also rip pages out of magazines instead of turning them.) He will lay in his crib on his back just waiting for his blanket, then he will take the blanket in his arms, roll over and go to sleep. He melts my heart every day, even when he's crying and won't settle down at 1am. He is saying Dada, we are trying to get him to connect dada with Dave. I think it's working a little but he still says it for a lot of things. He says mama as well, but I find he usually only says it while crying. I'm not sure if he's connected me as his mama and is calling for me or if he's just saying it while crying. A funny thing happened a while ago, I was trying to get him to say mama and I said to him "Can you say mama? I'm your mama" and he just shook his head no after the I'm your mama part. It was cute and funny.

Sweet Potato Day.
Today was our first day trying Sweet Potatoes. I have to say the verdict is still out. Got some great faces and a few bouts of gagging. I'm marking today as Austin's first word. Blech. I took some video and on it he goes blech and spits everything out he has in his mouth. But then he kept opening his mouth and taking the sweet potatoes anyways so it couldn't have been that bad. Here are a few pictures of the day.
Here is a link of a video of our story time. In the book it goes through the alphabet and when you get to Y it's a mirror so baby can see himself (you!)
I also have a video and since I don't know how to put video in here yet I will have to put the link in here......
