New rule. No eating food that has been in the fridge for more than 2 days. That was not a nice stomach ache I had.
This week I have done almost nothing. Monday I did nothing all day, didn't shower, didn't even brush my hair. Tuesday I did some cleaning. I cleaned and vaccuumed my living room, clean a bunch of stuff upstairs and then cleaned my living room a second time when Austin dumped my glass on juice into the bag with his scrapbook and some baby shower presents for my brother and helen. I was so worried about everything getting ruined I dumped the bag upside down on the floor, now spreading the juice all over the carpet instead of contained in the bag. *there was also A LOT of cursing going on.* Took me about 30 minutes to clean everything up. I think I now need to remove all my furniture from my living room and steam clean my carpet because last week Austin also spilled another glass of juice and a can of sprite in the living room..... Yes, I've gone through a shit load of paper towels this past week. sigh.
Then Dave's mom came over to watch Austin so I could go out and exchange the diapers we currently had in size 3 for size 4 since I know opening another case of size 3's would be pointless. Well, that was quite the fun trip, and I had the customer service ladies at walmart giving me attitude... but I won't bore you with the story. Dave's mom was awesome and not only bathed, fed, and put my son to bed, she also cleaned my front hallway. I had been looking at it all day trying to figure out where to start with the scary mess that was there, and deciding just to come back to it later...
Today we got up and I decided to head out before Austin's nap since I had some things to mail but forgot to do it last night when I had the chance. I went to my mom's work and ended up visiting with her for about 2 hours and ended up spilling an ice cap. (seriously, no drinks are safe between the two of us!) I am blaming austin though because he wouldn't stand up and help me out making it easier to pick him up so when I bent over to get him out came the ice cap... yup... totally his fault. lol. We got home and I could tell Austin was getting tired so I gave him a bottle instead of food and he was down for a nap for 3.5 hours. I tried to read but couldn't get into it so I just watched some movies till I was starting to get sleepy and had about a 45 min nap when Austin woke me up. I made him some carrots and beans for dinner and while they were cooking and cooling I gave him some cereal *wheats and biscuits or something like that, reminded me of pancake mix before you put it in the pan..lol* his 'meat' *finally got him to eat the vegetable beef baby food without crying and spitting it out!! woo hoo victory!* and some apple grape sauce. *Which, instead of buying the baby food version for $0.75 I just bought the walmart brand unsweetened kind for $1.97 and it had 6 containers instead of 1* Then he got his carrots and beans which he didn't finish eating but I didn't think he would.
We had a tough time at bed because even though he was tired, I couldn't find his soother (which was behind the humidifier under a bunch of stuff he pulled off the side tables) and someone *cough*Dave*cough* didn't do as I asked and re-charge the batteries from the mobile when they died (and I remember the conversation clearly "While I put Austin to bed can you please take the batteries out of the mobile and re-charge them so they are ready for tomorrow?" Response "I'll do it tomorrow...." Well, tomorrow never came...) so tonight the batteries in his aquarium died. So we have a dead mobile and a dead aquarium and a cranky baby because he doesn't have his soother or music to fall asleep to. Finally get him down, take the mobile downstairs to take the rechargable batteries out of, and can't find the screwdriver. We keep the screwdriver in the front hall closet on the right side of the shelf so that we always know where it is. I remember going to get the screwdriver for dave a while ago and he didn't return it (But really, am I suprised???) Tomorrow I am going to have to go out to the garage and find another one and put it in the closet so I know where it is. (and maybe go buy some more re-chargable batteries so I have a set charged when the other set dies?) Just goes to show that even though Dave is in Alberta so far away he can still annoy the crap out of me... But... I still love him. And miss him.
I want to get some pictures up here of my super awesome shopping deals at Children's place on Sunday but I had temporarily lost my camera. That kind of thing happens when you don't clean your house since your husband left and you have crap everywhere... I found it though yesterday... right where I left it.. of course. lol Maybe tomorrow I will have some pictures to share!

Rough week.
So this week has been a rough week. On monday I though I was going to have a broken nose. Austin headbutted me in the nose 3 times. (one of those was while we were napping so it woke me up out of a sleep.) Plus he headbutted me in the mouth which caused my lip to swell, also during the nap. He was being difficult when lunchtime came around and now my white shirt has asparagus all over it.... hmmm Then we got some super crappy news. It sucks and we're trying to find a solution.
Also that weekend we got some great 4 generations pictures with Austin, Dave, Karl (Dave's dad) and Karl sr (Dave's grandpa) on the tractor. We also have a 3 generation picture of Dave, his dad and grandpa on the same tractor when dave was a kid.
Today, not so much of a solution. But I did get to sleep in a bit (but almost got headbutted again when Dave brought Austin into our room) and I got to escape the house baby free for just over an hour. I went with vicky to get her passport photos and her passport. However, we got to the passport office at 4:38 and they closed at 4:30. boo!!! We did go to the superstore though and looked at all the pretty baby clothes. They are having a sale on so many cute boy clothes and shoes and I had to resist soooo badly not to buy anything, and I did it. I'm very proud. I did end up buying austin some cereal, we're going to try the rice and banana kind this week. Then I think we've tried all the cereals in the beginner and 6 months stage. I can't believe in less than a week he will be 8 months old!! Holy crap!
Here are some pictures.
We have Austin and Daddy at the cottage with daddy's fish.
This picture was just after Austin smacked dave in the face.. kinda funny.
This is Austin and his Duckie. This duck was given to him by his Aunt Katherine. This was before he was born and it was with a blanket. I wasn't sure if he would get much use out of the duck but he loves it. If you shake it in front of him he will get soooo excited and grab for it. He has chewed the legs so much that one leg has no stuffing left in it because he's sucked it into the foot. If you feel the body of the duck you can tell what it's supposed to feel like. The legs are so hardened from all the spit. He loves to stick a leg in his mouth then do something else with his hands. We just had to get a picture of it because it's so cute!
Here is a 16 shot from my camera of Austin at the bbq out in West lorne (Dave's grandparent's/Aunt & Uncles place) on June 27th. He is trying to eat a leaf. Really cute!

4 Generation picture
I also got some really great pictures of Austin and Opa together.
So there you have it. All the pictures updated. I am going to finish updating all my 101 lists and then go do some scrapbooking.

The week in review.
Wow. It's been a while since I was on here. Last week sucked because I was sick (and no, not pregnant..lol) I spent most days in bed doing very little. Thursday I was finally feeling better and went to babyville. It was great to get out. Friday I skipped stroller fit. Even though my cold was gone I was still having some issues with my breathing. Instead on Friday Austin and I went over to Dave's parents to help prepare for the Jack and Jill Brian was throwing for his friend Friday night. I did some meat trays (with the help of dave's dad) and then did some coloring of signs. Dave and I were the bartenders for the event so Austin had a sleepover at grandma and grandpa's. Austin Had also tried 2 new foods. Banana's and Peaches. There was no reaction to the banana's but he did make faces for the Peaches. Unfortunately that is the only one I didn't get a video of.
Saturday was Belinda's mom's 70th birthday party. We got there around 2 and stayed until around 10:30. It was a good afternoon until the mosquitoes came out after the sun went down.
Today we really didn't do much. Austin was up bright and early but around 8:30/9:00 he needed a nap so I laid in bed with him and he woke me back up at 10:30. I put him in his jumperoo and he was content and I drifted in and out of sleep for another hour or so. We just chilled out and watched some tv until Dave got home from his ball games this morning then we headed over to Dave's parents for our Father's day dinner. Dave's Mom and I went to Walmart to pick up some things for Austin. We got wipes, formula and some baby food. We bought the jars that were for 6 months plus instead of beginner. I bought 2 jars of each of the 6 months plus foods. Plus I bought some 6 months fruits and some stage 2 cereal. Tomorrow we will try mixed grains cereal. Once he is finished that I have mixed grains and fruit cereal.
I also bought some fresh vegetables to make my own baby food. I bought carrots, Broccoli, asparagus and baby eggplant. For what I've gotten out of the veggies it's definately cheaper than the jarred food. I've been saving the old jars and ended up with:
1 jar of asparagus plus a full ice cube tray of them. Cost me $2.37 for it.
8 Jars of Carrots. Cost me $2.00 for them. (One Jar is $.76 at walmart for the Heinz brand) *Tip, keep some of the water from the carrots to make it less thick if wanted.
4 1/2 Jars of Broccoli. Cost me $1.00 for it. *keep water to make it easier to puree
1 1/2 containers (the ones the fruit comes in from Heinz) of Eggplant. Cost me $3.00 for 2 of the baby ones. *I baked these at 350 for 45 min - an hour Because they are baked you need to add some water. Even though they are quite juicy it still wasn't enough to puree.
I made the baby food and played on the computer on an off and it took about 3 hours all together. I have labelled the lid of every jar with a number. I didn't want to write carrots on the jar and have the next batch of food be broccoli in the jar and I have to cross it out. Eventually I would run out of room. I am writing every number on the whiteboard in the kitchen plus writing what is in the jar and when it was made. That way there we know which food is oldest and we don't loose jars in the freezer.
Austin turned 7 months old yesterday. Unfortunately we have been so busy all weekend I haven't gotten a picture of him with his month old sign. I am going to make the sign and get a picture of it tomorrow. Tomorrow is also mine and Dave's 4 year anniversary. I can't believe it's already been 4 years since we've started dating. Time flies when you're having fun!!
101 in 1,001 update. I went an entire week without drinking pop. I have also read 3 more (almost 4) books. The twilight series by Stephenie Meyers. Twilight, New moon, and eclipse.
I think that is all. I'm heading to bed now that all the food is put away.

Sweet Potato Day.
Today was our first day trying Sweet Potatoes. I have to say the verdict is still out. Got some great faces and a few bouts of gagging. I'm marking today as Austin's first word. Blech. I took some video and on it he goes blech and spits everything out he has in his mouth. But then he kept opening his mouth and taking the sweet potatoes anyways so it couldn't have been that bad. Here are a few pictures of the day.
Here is a link of a video of our story time. In the book it goes through the alphabet and when you get to Y it's a mirror so baby can see himself (you!)
I also have a video and since I don't know how to put video in here yet I will have to put the link in here......

Green Bean failure.
Well, tonight's dinner was a massive fail. I got everything ready and when I walked into the living room/dining room I smelt an awful odor coming from Austin. So, I set his cup of green beans down in the pull out cup holder on the highchair. The tray was already pulled out so after I changed his bum I went to put him in the highchair by just sliding him in and not removing the tray. (like I always do.) WELL, just as got him in the highchair he kicked his legs. That's right, those green beans were still in the cup holder.
He kicked the tray right off the highchair. The beans flew. It was on our wall, on the carpet, all over the bottom and top of the tray. My toes were covered in green beans and my one pant leg. The other pant leg and my shirt was soaked from the sippy cup that was also sitting on the tray that went flying. It was a mess. While cleaning his tray I was trying to get the bottom and without realizing I ended up wiping beans all over my shirt too. We finally get everything cleaned up and couldn't get all the beans off my pants so they looked like a dog took a nice green crap on them. Then I start feeding him. He decided to blow bubbles in his oatmeal which sent it all over his face. Then, decided to rub his eyes, but start with his fist at his mouth so he spread the oatmeal and beans all over his face. Oh yeah, that was fun.
Between this and everything else going on I think I need a vacation..lol.

Mommy Says give peas a chance
And Austin says "ewww no"

Today was his first day trying peas. I really didn't think we were going to get a reaction out of him because after we went from squash to carrots he didn't even make a face. I kind of thought maybe we wouldn't get any more food faces until we tried things like pickles. Nope, classic food faces here. And I love them!

Austin's first Real food.
Well, as real as you can get for baby food. Saturday we gave him butternut squash. The first day he at least ate it. There were quite a few funny faces and he gagged twice. The second day he only gagged once and less funny faces. Now he just eats it. I wonder what kind of faces he will make next? We've decided the next food will be carrots.
*this picture is supposed to be rotated but forgot to do it before I uploaded and my computer is taking forever to upload so you will just have to turn your heads to see it properly. lol *
Here are a few pictures we took.
We also tried cheerios for the first time. We're not too sure about that yet. He doesn't seem to gum them enough before swallowing and I think they're getting stuck to the roof of his mouth. (which could explain the faces he's making.)
Then here are some random pictures of Austin I've taken.
That's right ladies, he's bringing sexy back!!! lol

*101 in 1,001 update * I finished another book. Size 12 is not fat by Meg cabot and my car stayed clean until sunday when we loaded it up coming back from the cottage. Now it's a mess. But I do think that sunday was the magical one month point so I officially completed keeping my car clean for a month!!! I've also completed 2 weeks of my stroller fit class so I've done 2 of the 4 weeks of walking once a week for at least an hour.

No Title.
Sorry, today's post is no title. I don't really think I can come up with one. I'm tired today. Very very tired. Was up late on Saturday night with Vicky and Don playing poker then up early sunday morning for church. Then, last night I just couldn't sleep. I was thinking too much (which is never a good thing at 2am) and I've been just a little stressed out lately. I finally crashed around 3:30 am just to be up with baby at 6:30.
I tried leaving him our bed to sleep while I dozed but I think I only managed it in 10 minute incriments because he kept kicking me. Then he pooped. Well that smell definately woke me up. Changed his bum, and tried the crib again. He seemed to be content so I went back to bed. Because I tuck pillows all around Austin when he's in bed with me, my nice soft squishy pillow that I cuddle with somehow smelled very badly of Austin's poop. I had to put it on the floor because it smelt so bad (and his diaper didn't leak at all so i'm not sure how the pillow gained the lovely smell...) so I didn't really get a nice sleep until Austin woke me up 20 minutes later by doing his new favorite thing.... Screaming. Not crying screaming, a hello new item i'm discovering; listen to how loud my voice can go. It's been lots of fun when he's doing it at about 5:30am... not. However, in the middle of the afternoon while we are playing on the floor his little hello screams are cute.
Speaking of cute, we have started Austin on Cereal. He's reached the milestones to start cereal and the dr said it was ok to. For the first week I fed him at 11am so that I could watch him throughout the day to make sure he was ok. Yesterday he got the cereal a little later in the day and today was back at 11am. I took video of his first cereal adventure. He wasn't a fan of the cereal, but couldn't stop shoving the brightly colored octopus and starfish bib in his mouth. Whenever the spoon wasn't there, the bib was. He is doing great though and I'm predicting more than a 1lbs weight gain when we go to the dr's on friday.
On Friday we got Austin's baptism outfit. absoloutely.freakin.adorable!!! It's white satin material. the pants have white satin suspenders, there is a white satin dress shirt, white satin vest, white satin bow tie and a matching white satin hat. I can't wait to dress him in it. Although I think we may have to hem the pant legs up a bit. the waist was just a smidgen big when we tried it on him last night but the legs were really long. I have to check our dresser drawer but I think we also need to find some shoes for him. The store we got the suit from only had white girls' shoes so we will need to go looking for something. I am about 99.9% sure I am also getting baptised that day. No one that we sent the invites out to knows about it but I figure why not. I'm very excited to have my family coming to church that day. the praise team at church is doing a double set (a performance of songs at the beginning and the ending of church) and Dave's family is performing. I can't wait for my family to see them and see just how good they are. It will be a very special sunday for us and they will be taping it so that will be great.
Anyways, I need to go to bed now. I'm soooo exhausted and know that Austin will be up in just a few short hours for a bottle. Good night everyone.
