Glee!!

Ok, so this post is for Robin. I tried to figure out the best way to lay out the need to know basics of Glee. This is going to a very basic intro and definately won't have all of the cast members with explanations but you will get the idea. Here we go.

We start with Will Schuster. He is the spanish teach and the one who wanted to re-start glee. Re-live his glory days so to speak.

Will is Married to Terri.

She knew she was losing her husband, so she said she was pregnant. She's not. She does have a plan though to get around this. (See further below.) She knows Emma loves Will (see below) so she took a job as a nurse at the school, prescribed all the kids decongestant to make them more energetic and got fired. (or something like that.)

Then there's Emma. She's in love with Will

She decided to settle though and is marrying the gym teacher because she can't have Will. Although she's a germaphobe and doesn't like to be around people so her and her fiance won't live together after they are married and they are going to Hawaii to get married so no one can witness.

Now we have the students (Love square.) Ready??

Rachel is a great singer and does most of the main female singing in the club.

She's very high strung and is in love with Finn.

She very breifly dated Puck as well.

<--- Puck.

However, Finn (also a football player)-> is Dating Quinn.

Quinn is in Glee as well, but used to be on Cheerios (cheer leading squad) She is pregnant, got kicked off of Cheerios because of this. She is telling Finn that it's his. In reality, her and Finn never had sex, the baby is Puck's.

<-- That darn Puck again! (Love the mohawk!)
She says she will go to the grave swearing that the baby is Finn's because he can provide for the family better. Puck tried to prove he would be an awesome dad by baking marijuana cupcakes for the glee bakesale (to get Artie a wheelchair bus to go to their sectionals) then steal the money from the bakesale for the baby. Yeah, great father. haha. Also, Finn and Puck are best friends and play football together. Oh yeah, you read right, recipe for disaster!

So anyways, Quinn is pregnant, and what is she going to do about this baby??
Insert This crazy lady:
<--Terri, Will's "pregnant" but not pregnant wife.
She's going take Quinn's baby and adopt it as her own since they both are around the same time frame for the pregnancy. Then Will doesn't find out she was lying and Quinn can continue on with her life. I predict something is not going to go as planned.
There you go in a nutshell. There are more characters that are just as fun but this is just a brief overview for you. I really hope you enjoy the show. Lot's of great music!

Busy

I am sorry readers, I have been horribly busy and neglectful of my blog. Halloween was over and it was right into Overdrive party planning. I'm pretty sure I'm borderline on ridiculous. However, I can't freaking wait. This is going to be such an awesome party and have some great things up my sleves. You will just have to wait until the party is over to see the proof. I probably won't be posting pictures until at least tuesday after Dave goes back to Alberta.

New milestones.

This kid is too smart for me. He's now figured out he can move his highchair... (I'm predicting this does not turn out well at all.) and he's started to figure out loop holes. He knows I say no and he gets in trouble when he touches the lamps... so what does he do? Goes and gets a toy and touches the lamp with the toy. Oh this kid, he's going to be a handful for me when he gets older!!!
He likes to bang on things with his hands. He's also figured out his temper. His very first temper tantrum was a few weeks ago when I was getting him out of the bath. He didn't want to get out, he wasn't done playing. He screamed and kicked while I got him out, got his towel on and took him to his room. It wasn't until his pj's were on that he finally calmed down. The other day he turned on the tv and there wasn't anything on it so he started yelling and banging the tv. (usually I forget to shut off the dvd player so something usually comes up)
He is walking much quicker and can now even stand himself up without needing to hold on to anything. Most times instead of taking 2 steps then crawling because it's easier he will stand himself up and walk somewhere instead. He still loves to open and slam doors, and when you tell him no he will look at you and do it anyways with a smile.

He's actually growing some hair now. I spiked his hair after his bath last night and it was still sticking up this morning, usually it falls flat because there isn't enough hair to stay standing up. It looks so cute that I'm going to leave it standing up for the day. I will get a picture later!
Here are some pictures from this week.

He was standing at the tv and got his food stuck in his toy. He didn't seem all that worried about getting it out.

And here are some pictures from our snacktime the other day. It was his first time drinking homo milk and we were having a cheese string.

Milk Moustache!!!!

And obviously I will have tons of cute halloween pictures after tomorrow!!!

Flu season.

I think I may just stay home and keep Austin home and locked up with me this winter. I don't do flu shots. 4 or 5 years ago I got the flu shot. Within a week of the shot I got the flu. That winter, I got it 3 more times. Horrible sick feverish can't get off the couch flu's. The next year, I didn't get the flu shot. I didn't get the flu. And I haven't since. I know I won't be getting the flu shot. The only thing is will Austin. I really don't know. When I was a baby I got the measles shortly after getting my measles shot. I got really sick. Even though it wasn't right after his shots Austin got Roseola (baby measles.) How? I still haven't figured it out. No one we know has had the measles. He needed to come in contact with it to get it. How did he come in contact? Did the stuff from the vaccinations stay dormant for a while then decide to rear it's ugly head? I don't know. Do I really want to give him the flu shot knowing my history with shots??? After the measles thing, do I want to test out the flu shot on him?? Not really sure.

**Yes, I know every single medical professional and all the information put out about the flu shot says over and over again you can't get the flu from the flu shot. If you can't someone please explain to me what happened, and why I got sick so many times that year but haven't gotten sick since...**

Don't even get me started on the H1N1 shot. H1N1 scares the shit out of me. I'm on a few different chat boards and have heard about how healthy mothers have died from this virus leaving their babies behind. I've heard of children having it and being horribly sick and in comas. I've heard on the news of all the deaths. It scares me. But..... I've also heard about the lack of testing on the H1N1 shot and the girl who can only walk backwards... (as funny as it sounds it's pretty scary) Do I really want to put myself or my child at risk?? I'm going to be putting him at risk anyways. Do I risk giving him the vaccine and him getting some horrible side effect from it because there isn't comprehensive testing and trials done on the vaccine? Or even worse, if it something like the flu shot and knowing my history getting the shot and getting sick from it? Or, do I risk not giving him the shot and put him at risk of getting H1N1. Could I live with myself if either of us gets sick either way?

So, if you need to find us, we may be locked up in our house until spring.....

Trying not to have a lazy sunday.

It's less than a week now until halloween! I can't wait. We have to carve austin's pumpkin out this week, I might wait until friday to do it, then I can put it outside on saturday and hopefully no one smashes it.

I have lots of preparations for Austin's birthday to do still. I started a to do list but haven't really gotten much accomplished so I am going to divide it up by weeks and write down what I want to get done that week. makes it easier for me to be accountable. Austin is with my mom and step dad today because I had my card class. While he's still visiting with alllll the grandparents (my dad and step mom are also at my brother's) and my brother Helen and the twins I decided to stay home and get some work done. I've got laundry to do (both mine and austin's) plus I want to do some cleaning and some homework. That means I really should get off this computer and get some work done. I just thought I would get a post done first.

Austin is doing amazing. His second tooth has come through. He's walking much quicker now. He almost ran towards the laptop when I was showing dave his walking on the webcam. He is actually saying mama now and coming to me so he's figured out how to connect the word to me. He still chews on everything and rubs his gums on everything.... including his crib. Because he has one tooth he's scraped the paint off the crib from rubbing his gums.

I'm still gearing up for his first birthday, it's going to be one crazy celebration!!! I will definately have some pictures of the crazyness. Dave is going to be home too, which is a fantastic thing. West Jet had a seat sale on so we got his flight for really cheap. I can't wait for Dave to see our house transformed into an elmo wonderland!! lol.

Well, I better get off my rear and get some work done around here!!

it's thursday!

I figured I would post a quick update while my baby is napping...

I have been keeping pretty busy with the birthday party plans. Our house will look like a giant elmo nightmare.. lol. I've got some great decorating plans! The invites are almost ready and now i just have to sit and figure out what kind of food I want to be serving. I have found some elmo cookies to serve.

I've been really tired. I haven't really been tired able to fall asleep at night until 1 or 2, so our afternoons are filled with nap times. lol.

We were at a halloween part and austin showed up as the ever aadorable skunk. Got some great pics, can't wait for Halloween night to show him off.

His second tooth finally broke through this week, he looks so cute with his 2 teeth in there!!

Well, the mister is awake now and fussing, plus dinner needs to be checked.

Birthday party plans!

I've been super busy with Austin's first birthday party plans. Only one month to go! We are doing an elmo theme. A great friend is designing some elmo invitations for me which will be in the mail as soon as they are done. I went to the party store today. I've been checking out ebay for some elmo things. There was a set of first birthday elmo things on there. The price was pretty good. Then I went to the party store. The ebay price was fantastic. When I looked at the ebay listing I realized that for the same price I could sacrifice the first birthday elmo party trimmings and just go with elmo and get more. So I did. And with the help of my dad we won the ebay bid for a 32 set of elmo party supplies! There are 32 big plates, 32 little plates, 32 cups, 32 big napkins 32 (or 16, can't remember) litle napkins, a table cloth, centrepiece, some invitations (which I don't need but pretty much free once you figure out the cost to buy everything seperate) and an elmo book. Even with shipping I am still paying less then buying both sets of plates in the stores. Here is a picture of the 'goods'

I also picked up today from the party store some elmo coloring books to go in the favor bags instead of useless toys the older kids at the party won't use, for the younger kids (my new niece and nephew for one) an elmo story book with a squeeker in it. And, since I wasn't sure if I would be getting the set off ebay I bought some plastic re-usable elmo plates for only $0.33 each! I figured the kids could eat off them and take them home as a favor as well. I have found some really cute elmo mylar balloons online too that they don't sell around here I may order, including the 5 foot tall floating elmo. I'm getting very excited now! Less than a month to go!

Pumpkin picking!

Today we went pumpkin picking. Had a great day. A little muddy but no one really noticed. I got some fantastic pictures today but a little annoyed that my camera broke. I had left it on and like usual the screen shuts off to conserve battery power. Well, it wouldn't turn back on, not even to close the lens. I took the battery out and tried a few times, nothing worked. I put it back in my purse. Got home, got the warranty and while I'm on my way to future shop it starts working again. Very random. I still asked about it and they said they would send it away, it would be a few weeks. Ummm I can't go a few weeks without my camera! I don't know what I'm going to do, I want to get it fixed but with so much stuff coming up in the next few weeks/month I don't want to go without a camera. (ie his 11 month pictures, the twins arrival, his first halloween, then his birthday)

Anyways.. some great pictures..

Sick

Austin is a great sharer. I think the count of people he's shared his cold with is at 4. At least he shares right?? lol.

I need to get over this cold, because it's now less than a week until my niece and nephew arrive! I'm very excited and can't wait. I've already got the babysitter lined up so that I can visit.

Not too much going on here. We're going pumpkin picking tomorrow so I will definately have some pictures to share. I'm tired so I'm heading to sleep.

Tuesday, October 6, 2009

I was just updating my 101 in 1,001 list and realized I was supposed to make 10 new goals by september 1st. Obviously I completely forgot about them so I will try to have 10 new goals up by next week.

October!

I can't believe it's october already! I can't wait to get Austin all dressed up in his halloween costume. I think we are going pumpkin picking this weekend. For the past 2 years I have hung some lights and handed out candy but never got around to getting pumpkins. Last year while sitting on my front step handing out candy (because it would have been way too much pain to get up and down every time the door rang) in a blanket with my gigantic belly I swore that this year we would have pumpkins. So this year we're going to get pumpkins. I also can't wait to get some adorable pictures of Austin walking around the pumkin patch.

Austin is also 11 months old next week. I really need to get a move on his birthday party plans, I want to make some super adorable invitations!

I also need to go through my 101 in 1,001 list and update it. I'm sure there have been a few things I've finished and haven't marked off. I know the last book I read was finger lickin fifteen by Janet Evanovich. I better get back to reading if I want to get my 25 done by december 31st!!!

TEETH!!!

It has finally happened, Little Mister Austin has teeth! I never thought he would get them. He's pretty cranky and waking up at least once through the night but yay teeth!! I think he also caught a cold somehow. He's miserable tonight. He is finally down for the night I think, but he's been up crying for at least an hour and half now. I had to dig out the vapourizer and set it up in his room hoping that helps with the congestion.

It's very hard to believe but Austin is almost a year old! only a month and a week to go! I really need to get cracking on the party plans and invitations! I've been looking forward to the party planning for months but I haven't really gotten into it. I haven't really been doing much craft stuff lately, I will need to get back into it very soon. I have some christmas cards to make soon!!

It has also been 2 years yesterday (or 2 days ago, the 4th, since it's now after midnight) since we got possesion of our house. It's crazy that it's been 2 years already!! I remember the excitement and our first night sleeping in our house (which wasn't till november) but we slept on the airmattress in the living room with no furniture. It was great.

Well, someone has woken back up. Boo. I'm going to get him to settle back down again then head to bed myself.

Some Videos.

Here are some videos of Austin's first few steps. The videos are really short and it was hard to shoot them and help him walk at the same time, but here we are.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFOYwKLgnw4

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmldLp4Fk5A

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bG4lBDWIWyg
My little man is growing so quickly!!! He is now actually taking a step before falling over. He will be walking on his own in no time at all!!! He's figured out clapping and loves to do it. However you can't prompt him to do it, he just does it on his own. I'm not sure if I mentioned this in the last post but he's figured out how to turn the tv on and off. Kind of annoying when you're trying to watch something, but oh well, it's not that often.

There isn't really too much new with me. These hours I'm working are going to kill me. this week I work 1-10 and friday and saturday I work 2 or 2:30 - midnight. It really sucks. When I work late I don't usually get to sleep until at least 1am, then I'm up with Austin around 7. Makes for a very tired and worn out mommy. Then I have school on top of that. Let's just say I'm definately keeping myself busy! lol. I'm glad that Austin is so young because the moving around from house to house while I work doesn't seem to be affecting him.

Great Milestones

Austin took his almost first step yesterday. He was holding on to the tv stand with 2 hands, took a step. He then let go and 1 handed took a step then he let go altogether and tried to take a step but when he lifted his foot he fell over. It was very exciting to watch and I'm glad I just happened to be home for it. He has also figured out how to clap. It's so cute now to watch him clap at things. He's getting so big!!!

Here are some of his 10 month old pictures, some pictures of when he had the measles, and a picture of him trying to squeeze into the kitchen between his playpen and highchair.

I went yesterday and got Austin's Halloween costume. He is going to be a skunk. Here are just a few pictures to tide you over till Halloween. Hope everyone enjoys!

Long time gone.

Well hello again.

I've been busy with work. I've finished my training class and now I am in "abay" which is on the phones but I have to reach certain goals before I can move on to regular work (which for me is better schedules) and for the rest of the people in my class it means a raise. The schedule sucks big time. We have sunday monday off which is fine, but we are working 1:30-10:30 and then saturday shifts usually start and end later. This shift is making child care arrangements a little difficult. It's not like I can just not worry because Dave will be home to watch him all night. I have to get someone to either take Austin for the night or hang out at my house until I'm done work. It sucks.

Friday night after work some of us from our training class went out to boston Pizza afterwards to have a drink. Austin was spending the night at Grandma and Grandpa R's so I went along. It was fun, we chatted, enjoyed some food (mmmm nachos!) then I got home around 1am. Last night Austin had another sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa R's. Because I didn't have to rush home to relieve a babysitter I went with a classmate to the car wash. They had left a cooler in the back of their car full of water and a few left over beer and it tipped over and created puddles in the back. We went and used the wet vaccuum and spent 2 hours trying to get the water out of the back of the car. I got home around 2:30. I slept in through church this morning because I was a little tired so I figured I should update here a bit then get moving since church is over soon.

Austin turned 10 months old last weekend..... And got baby measles (aka Roseola) He broke out in spots sunday morning. His 10 month old pictures are coming. They were taken very late unfortunately. Sunday we were dealing with all the spots and the dr's then we had to pick Dave up from the airport. Monday was a busy day complete with my first day of night school. Tuesday and wednesday we were out of town at a funeral and thursday I was back to work and dave was back to the airport. I finally got the pictures taken yesterday but he didn't really have a lot of spots left.

We still have no teeth, and still have very little hair. Maybe he will have some hair by his second birthday.. lol. Austin is getting closer and closer to walking. I went to put him in the bath last week and when I put him on the floor in the bathroom he stayed crouched down, picked up his bath toys then stood himself up and stood there for a good 2 minutes while I got his bath stuff ready. Once I turned the water on though he grabbed the tub and tried to look in. He is also starting to take a few steps while holding on to only one hand instead of freezing up as soon as you let go of one of his hands. He has mastered closing things. He has a pop up toy at Dave's parents and he won't push the buttons to make the animals pop up but he loves to put the lids back down. And, He loves cupboards. He will sit and open and close cupboards for ever. Unfortunately the closing ends up as slamming and it gets pretty noisy. If there is something bothering him or in his way he pushes it out of his way, and he can turn pages in books (and also rip pages out of magazines instead of turning them.) He will lay in his crib on his back just waiting for his blanket, then he will take the blanket in his arms, roll over and go to sleep. He melts my heart every day, even when he's crying and won't settle down at 1am. He is saying Dada, we are trying to get him to connect dada with Dave. I think it's working a little but he still says it for a lot of things. He says mama as well, but I find he usually only says it while crying. I'm not sure if he's connected me as his mama and is calling for me or if he's just saying it while crying. A funny thing happened a while ago, I was trying to get him to say mama and I said to him "Can you say mama? I'm your mama" and he just shook his head no after the I'm your mama part. It was cute and funny.

soooo close.

only 7 hours 49 minutes until My husband gets home. Only 13 hours 49 min until I get to see my husband during my lunch break tomorrow. I am so excited and can't wait. I guess that's it for now.

Almost there!!!!

It's almost time for a visit from my loving husband!!! 2 more sleeps. Can't wait to see him! Work is still pretty boring, but training is almost done. I am having a blast with my co-workers and avoiding falling asleep so that is good. Austin is at the cottage with my dad and my mom and step dad so I'm enjoying my night's to myself. I enjoyed a great dinner with Sue tonight and I had a few adult beverages and getting ready to head to bed.

Good night all!

Here we go.

Alright. I finally have a few minutes to update here. I have some pictures from Robin's bon Voyage party, from camping in Buffalo, some new ones of Austin and some of the baby shower for Adam and Helen.
I've been back and work and it's really boring, mainly because I know almost everything. The last few days haven't been too bad because we are doing the new stuff that was coming out just as I was leaving so I am actually learning something but I think that's the only thing that has really changed so I think I will go back to being bored soon.
Here are some pictures.

Austin with Robin's brother, and a very unhappy baby.

Me and Robin!!!

Robin and Austin.
The Torrential rain we lived through that flooded everything while camping.

Me Sheena and Vicky!

Austin sitting in his new car seat and one of his 9 month old pics

More 9 month old photos
Pondering the facts of life while sleeping.

The mom and Dad to be and their cake.

Opening presents.

Adam with his doll during the change the baby relay race and Helen with her bows.
There you go, finally some pictures. I tried to take it easy on the pics and only upload 5 from each event.

I have to say that I love my iPod alarm clock but I find it's getting too much interferance. If I have my cell phone too close to it and I get a message or a call it scrambles the clock and the time changes to 1pm and my alarm is re-set to midnight. Weird. You can also get a remote for it. I've been using the laptop in bed with me lately and something from the laptop is acting as the remote because the volume will randomly go up and while starting up the laptop the other day the iPod randomly came on with a sleep timer of 90 min. It's kind of funny now.

*101 in 1,001 update* I have finished 2 more books.. oops, sorry, 3 more books. Bright lights big ass (i think, or else that's the one I haven't started yet...will have to check) Tulle little tulle late, and velvet rope diaries. I'm just starting the new Janet Evanovich book, Finger lickin 15 and predict I will be done it within a day or 2. I also went somewhere other than ontario and quebec, I went camping.
