Some crazy hats

While looking for some pictures for my previous post about what I would wear to the royal wedding, I came across some pictures of some crazy hats. Wow. I just felt the need to share them all here with you.

Let's start with this beauty. I'm not sure a royal is wearing this (I'm not so up on my royals...) but it said it was worn at the Royal Ascot which I believe is something like the Kentucky Derby

And this lovely piece worn by Princess Beatrice..... She's just really into the horse race... that's it.

Sadly, my next find was also a princess Beatrice picture

Now, I don't believe this is a royal, but it makes me giggle. Kind of looks like a fancy napkin, but is it the table cloth for her table?

Then, I found another Princess Beatrice picture. Seriously, how does her head not fall over?

I decided it was time to stop picking on poor Princess Beatrice, but then this picture came up and I just couldn't help myself. What the....

I had google searched royal princess hats. This came up in the search. Do I ever want that barbie hat... (insert sarcasm here)

Now these hats aren't crazy, but I love the face Kate is making in this picture. I swear I can hear her saying "Is it time to get this bloody hat off my head yet, I'm itchy."

It kind of looks like a green crab is trying to escape off the back of this hat...

And finally, I leave you with a non royal hat that is bound to make you giggle. Seriously, What the Eff makes you want to wear a bathroom on your head?!?!?

I guess the moral of the story here is:

1. you must always tilt your funny hat off the right side or centre of your head.

2. Princess Beatrice needs to fire her current hat chooser. Pick me instead.

3. Her Royal Majesty the Queen has some very beautiful hats.

That Royal Wedding.

When the news broke that there was going to be a royal wedding, I wasn't all, OMG OMG!!! I was filled with dread of having to hear about the thing non stop for a year or more.

I was amazed at how quickly the wedding approached without there being tons of news coverage on every.single.freaking.detail. I was actually really surprised at the beginning of April to hear that the wedding was going to be this month. I had no idea.

I will admit that in the last few weeks hearing the news/friends/family talk about the wedding part of me is thinking about watching (I thought better, I like sleep) and I've heard of all these parties going on. It would have been fun to attend a party, or hey, thrown a party if I had been into it all along. I love a good party. lol. But, I am not attending a party.

Regardless of my lack of love for the Royal Wedding, I love to play imaginary dress up. So, Ladies and Gents, this is my choice for outfit to the royal wedding (and do forgive me if the wedding colors are purple, I would go with another color. lol)

And because in Royal fashion, every outfit must be accompanied by a hat, I give you this, which you can find here

With that being said, I will be looking to see the highlights at some point tomorrow, I'm sure of it.

Goodnight everyone!

Support

I'm not sure if you remember me saying I was super busy working on a huge order. I was making some cards for my step mom.

In december she had been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She had recently decided to do the CIBC run for the cure. I've created some cards for her to sell as a fundraiser for the run.

If anyone is interested in purchasing some cards please let me know!! They measure 4x4 inches, come with envelopes and are for sale 4 cards for $5.

A wonderful Sunday

I had a great day today. I got to hang out with a great friend. She was my Maid of Honor in my wedding. Today we got to immerse ourselves in Wedding again. She is recently engaged and what better way to hang out together then to go to a Bridal Show!! We wandered around and discussed weddings, family, life in general and had a great time. Afterwards we still had the wedding itch and headed to a bridal store where we oohed and ahhed over gowns and dresses. (I'm still in love with the Alfred Angelo Disney Line, specifically Cinderella. So pretty!) She tried some on and let me tell you, she is going to be such a beautiful bride!! I'm so excited to help her plan and do whatever else she needs help with. I'm excited to help her create all her paper goods, like invitations and thank you cards! After all the wedding awesome-ness we picked up Austin and went for an early dinner. It was nice to grab a bite and hang out again. I'm really hoping we can do it again before I leave!!

Another Weekend

Where did this past week go? It's like poof, it's gone! I wanted to get Austin's hair done this week but alas didn't get it done.

I'm writing this post while in the car on the way to Dave's grandparents. We've packed a lunch and goodies and we're going to visit and catch up. I'm not sure if I got a chance to go visit after Brian and Korrinne's wedding, but it's been quite a few months since we've seen them.

They are always so fun to visit. There is only one way to greet Grandma, and that is a hug. Doesn't matter how long she's know you. She's a great complimenter and always makes you feel great. And grandpa, well he just has such a contagious smile and makes you feel like you've just made his day. Of course there are hugs from him too. He is the cutest old man I think I have ever seen. (Think a skinny version of the man in UP!) They truly are a blessed couple and you can see the love for each other after all these years.

They make you so comfortable as you walk in the door. I remember almost 6 years ago now going to meet them for the first time. I was so nervous and worried they wouldn't like me. I was worried that they would decide I wasn't good enough for their grandson and conversation would be awkward. I walked in the door and was greeted by smiles and hugs and immediately felt comfortable. Conversation was easy and I left their house that weekend in love with them.

So today is going to be a great day of visiting grandma and grandpa (or Nana and Opa to Austin) and catching up. We are almost there and I can't wait!

I survived

I survived Scrapfest. I did come away though with some sore muscles from carrying everything I bought. I also have no idea how I'm getting everything back to Alberta with me. haha.

I have so many new ideas on cards and items. I can't wait to get home and put everything together. I am hoping to have some amazing items shortly!

I will post some pictures and an overview of my weekend shortly. Just wanted to let everyone know that I made it through the weekend. lol.

Hold onto this time

Some days, I think I am going crazy. That if I hear one more whine or cry my head might actually explode. If another variation of the word no escapes austin's lips I might have to lock myself in the bathroom and bang my head off the wall.

But I also know that before I know it this time will be gone. He is only 2 years, 5 months, 2 weeks, and 4 days old once. Tomorrow will be a different number and within what will seem like only a few months from now he will be 3 years old.

I'm trying my hardest to live every day to the best. There are hard days for sure. Like today. A very hard day. But despite being hard I still try to remind myself to take all of him in. See the silly things. Like trying to sneak and tip toe down the hall when he should be sleeping. Especially when I am looking at him and he's still trying to sneak. Or when he stops, says ready? Go! Then continues running.

I love the way he is so curious about life and want to know "what that mommy?" Or "where did ___ go?" And when he's excited he will say 'look look!" And point out all the things that us as adults don't bother stopping to appreciate.

I look at my niece and nephew while I'm here at my mom's or I look back at videos and pictures of austin and I'm reminded that he's only this age once, every day he gets older and I need to cherish those days. I am going to try my hardest to live each day to it's best. Try to remember the cute when I'm losing patience. Try to tell myself that life is short, do all that I can now. And no matter what I will always love my family.

Hey Jude

I'm not really sure why "Hey Jude" is such a favorite song of mine. I love the Beatles, made that way even more after seeing the John Lennon Exhibit at the Rock N Roll Hall of fame in Cleveland when I was in College.

For the first at least year and half of his life, I sang "All My Loving" to Austin nightly before bed. I listened to so much beatles music and sang so much of it while pregnant that when he was first born that song would get him to stop crying.

I also briefly considered calling him Jude. Because that song is a favorite. My best guess is because that was the song that Uncle Sid's Piano could play on it's own. All I know is he put a roll in the piano and the keys started playing on it's own and the family started singing.

Regardless, I do love it, and don't be surprised if future children are named after Beatles songs.

This weekend's Adventure

Scrapfest!!!!

I am so frickin excited!!

I am leaving tomorrow afternoon around 2pm. Me and my Sister in Law Korrinne are driving out to Kitchener. Since she doesn't have a friday VIP pass she is going to go visit some old friends while I go to the VIP night. Afterwards there has been some talk of going out, maybe some dancing.

Saturday Korrinne and I are going to Scrapfest to spend the day learning new things and adoring all the pretty things.

Then it's back home and I'm heading to a banquet with my family. yah!!

Stay tuned for some pics from scrapfest!
