He's home!

Not like he really left per se, but my husband is home. After almost 3 years of being apart while he's working. 3 years. So hard to believe. Doesn't seem that long for sure. So now, instead of only having my husband home one week out of every 3, or for 4 days every 2 weeks, he will be home every night! At least for a few months. I can run to the grocery store after bedtime again. I can meet the girls for drinks in Edmonton and not worry about a babysitter or scheduling during Dave's week off. I can feel just a small amount of freedom coming back (I say small amount because let's be honest, we have kids. We won't be getting freedom for the next 18years at least)and I'm not going to lie, I'm excited. It's not all about me though. Dave can spend more time with his kids. I know he's a little sad about missing so much of Austin's life. Now he won't have to miss so much of Mackenzie's. We can start to spend more time together again (although I'm not looking forward to sharing the bed all the time again)I just hope that this lasts for more then a few months. That's one thing I've learned from Dave being in this field is that you can never depend in a job to last forever. I really hope it's more then just a few months before he gets sent back up north.

  1. YAY!! I love when my husband is home. I know that if he is not working he is not making money since hes self employed but I still like having dinner with him and watching tv on the couch or maybe going out if I need to.
