Getting excited!!!
I am leaving tomorrow (well technically today since it's after midnight) to go to Niagra Falls for a girls weekend. I am getting so excited!!! I don't think I've ever done a go away girls weekend (other than the one with my mom last summer but that was different) We are staying at a hotel that is a 5 min walk to the falls. I can't wait to sit back and relax, and go swimming and hot tubbing. I won't be on updating until at least monday. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend and Happy February!!! (Hopefully only one more month after that until winter is done!!!)

101 in 1,001
I have been debating doing this for quite a while. I have finally decided that I want to set the goals and attain them. Here is an overview and my list.
The Mission:Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.
The Criteria:Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).
Why 1001 Days? Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

What makes my day.
I love how I can make Austin smile. I lift him above my head so he's 'flying' and say hello and he goes into the biggest grin imaginable!!! Then if I keep him up there and keep talking to him he will kick his legs and giggle. It makes my day. He even makes me laugh because he can be crying the hardest he's ever cried and I can't get him to stop, but I lift him up and say hello, he'll start crying then halfway through switch to a giggle. I will have to see if dave can help me get it onto video.
Speaking of video, we have been unsuccessful in getting Austin Rolling over on video yet. Sunday at my mom's we propped him up on his arms and he rolled over. We did it again and he rolled the other way. He was definately putting some effort into it. I know some may say it wasn't a true roll but I'm saying it was his first assisted roll. When we laid him down without propping his arms under him he was working hard to get rolled over but couldn't get his little legs to go.

Happy Birthday Dave!!
Today is Dave's Birthday. It was so great he even called in sick to work today. This is how the day went: Wake up, go downstairs. Dave fell asleep in the chair, baby in the swing. I woke up, go downstairs, Dave moves to couch - falls alseep. I feed Austin and watch some recorded shows off our pvr. Dave sleeps all afternoon, I watch tv, play with Austin and generally do nothing. Dave wakes up, we feed baby, watch some more tv. Austin falls asleep, I go have a shower then we go to Dave's parents for dinner, come home Austin goes to bed, dave goes to bed, here I am.

My throat is still a little sore but it doesn't seem to be getting worse. Dave I think has killed whatever cold was in him by sleep (I hope) and Austin is smiling again today. The entire time he was sick we couldn't get a smile out of him. Today he was all smiles so I take it as a sign he's getting better. His nose is still running a little bit but not bad.
This is a picture of Austin Monday. He was fussing like crazy and as soon as I put him on the Panda pillow he passed out.
These are a few pictures I took while on my road-trip on Tuesday. This is out by my grandma's house.

Still sick.
Austin is getting better but still a little sick. I feel so bad for him. He sneezes and snot comes out his nose. He manages to suck it up his nose but then 'chokes' on it which makes him cry. Crying causes more snot that he sucks up and 'chokes' on then cries some more. Last night was lots of fun..lol. And now dave is sick too. Today when Austin cries Dave says, "I know how you feel buddy" Ummm you don't really know. You can blow your nose and take the good drugs to help it. Maybe I should get dave to suck choke and cry to see how it feels. I am killing myself laughing at the image of a 26 (tomorrow!) year old man doing this. When I am getting grumpy today I shall think of this and laugh. hehe.
We are supposed to have a play date tomorrow but I have a feeling we need to cancel it. Unfortunately I have woken up with a sore throat this morning. I guess the rest of the week is a write off.

A nice Sunday
We had a great day today. Daddy and Austin had some bonding time while mommy got to sleep in. Then we hung out around the house. Dave's parents came to visit and to see Austin. I tried a new recipe for dinner tonight. I think we over cooked it a little. It was mexican rice and chicken wraps. It was pretty good though for being a little dry. Here's the recipe:
2 cans of campbells chedar cheese soup
1 cup water
2 cups salsa
2 lbs boneless skinless chicken cubed
1 1/4 cup reg long grain rice.
Put all ingredients in a crock pot and cook on low for 7-8 hours. (We didn't have that much time so we put it on high and cooked for about 3 hours.)
Put rice mixture onto large tortilla wraps and enjoy.
We didn't quite have the 2lbs of chicken so instead we put in 2 cups of rice and 1 1/2 cups of water. I was worried it would be too watery but it thickened right up. I'm kind of excited to try new recipes. I think the next one might be the chicken parmesean that I've wanted to try forever (it has cream cheese and spinach in the middle of it.) Wish me luck!
Austin's coughing sneezing and running nose has gotten worse. Not too bad and thankfully he's not too grumpy about it. My heart becomes just a little sad though when he's trying to cough. I just want to teach him how to clear his throat. Poor guy. I hope it starts to clear up tomorrow!
Speaking of clearing up, I think it may be time it stopped snowing. We had no snow on our deck yesterday. Now there's a whole lot of it. I can't believe that it hasn't stopped in over 24 hours!!! I know, I know, I live in Canada, but come on!

A lot of firsts.
This week has been full of firsts. Austin had his first shots, accompanied by his first tear. He sat up on the first time on his own. And today he got his first cold. It's the gross crusty nose kind of cold. And with the cold came the first time he expelled a booger from his nose. When telling Dave this he responds with : Awww I missed his first booger???
Ah yes, a week of firsts.
