Busy Few weeks

I haven't really updated because I have been super busy. First we had Austin's Baptism. We had a guest list of about 60 people coming for it so we stayed busy all weekend getting ready. Then Last week I really didn't do too much on the computer.

This past weekend we went to Medieval times on Saturday. Us ladies got very inebriated and I kind of enjoyed it. We all got into the show and booed the red knight (well, my very loud husband did) and the red knight kept giving us the evil eye everytime he went past our seats. It was exciting and nice to go out for a night and not worry about babies.

Yesterday was very much a do nothing day. I had a wicked headache from all the rum I drank so we sat around and didn't do much. Everyone came back over and we had breakfast then played some Dance Dance Revolution on the Wii. Then everyone left and I had a fantastic nap.

Today I got ambitious and put Austin's highchair together. It was in so many pieces!! The stroller didn't even take that much assembly! I did get everything together and then panicked that I had an extra screw. I went through and re-counted all the screws and it just turned out there was an extra one in the package (Big sigh of relief!) I put Austin in his chair and he enjoyed it so much he decided to poo. And it went all up his back - like up to the shoulder blades. I had just put him in a new outfit he had recieved and it was green and white striped with little baby aligators on him. And he only had it on for less than an hour. Oh well, maybe next time!

I'm getting excited for April. It's going to fly by I think. Mainly because the weather will get warmer and hopefully Austin's skin will clear up a bit. Then I have an infant massage class I've signed up for so that will break the month up a bit.

*101 in 1,001 update*
I went to the zoo with Sue, Owen and Austin and I finished a book, bringing my yearly total to 2 books and one half done... I'm slowly getting there.

101 List updated

I forgot to mention. I have completed some things off my 101 in 1,001 list. I cleaned the office, set up a craft and sewing area, purchased the items neccesary to make pacifier straps (all have been made and are for sale currently) and I took Austin's 4 month picture yesterday. I'm updating the list now.

Craft Table!!!

I have a craft table! I had been hauling all my scrapbooking stuff down to the kitchen table for months and it's annoying me because then I have tons of stuff sitting around my dining room and if I forget something I have to keep going upstiars to find it. Now I have a table in my office for crafting. Woo hoo. I could probably even leave my cricut set up on it because I've got the space. I can't wait to get started tonight on some craft table organizing!

Also, in preparation for the craft table, our office is clean. For the first time in a year and a half it is clean. It is still a bit away from being fantastically clean like a normal person's expectations but for us, it's clean. We have a floor. wow.

Austin is growing even more, We had his 4 month dr's appt yesterday. He now weighs 17lbs even. He's definately getting heavier to carry around in his car seat. Speaking of cars.... My car has now been mommy-fied. Before you could tell I was a mommy by the car seat base. That's it. Now we have installed the baby mirror and the sun shades. Both matching rainforest pattern. lol. It's definately a bright mommy car now.

No Title.

Sorry, today's post is no title. I don't really think I can come up with one. I'm tired today. Very very tired. Was up late on Saturday night with Vicky and Don playing poker then up early sunday morning for church. Then, last night I just couldn't sleep. I was thinking too much (which is never a good thing at 2am) and I've been just a little stressed out lately. I finally crashed around 3:30 am just to be up with baby at 6:30.

I tried leaving him our bed to sleep while I dozed but I think I only managed it in 10 minute incriments because he kept kicking me. Then he pooped. Well that smell definately woke me up. Changed his bum, and tried the crib again. He seemed to be content so I went back to bed. Because I tuck pillows all around Austin when he's in bed with me, my nice soft squishy pillow that I cuddle with somehow smelled very badly of Austin's poop. I had to put it on the floor because it smelt so bad (and his diaper didn't leak at all so i'm not sure how the pillow gained the lovely smell...) so I didn't really get a nice sleep until Austin woke me up 20 minutes later by doing his new favorite thing.... Screaming. Not crying screaming, a hello new item i'm discovering; listen to how loud my voice can go. It's been lots of fun when he's doing it at about 5:30am... not. However, in the middle of the afternoon while we are playing on the floor his little hello screams are cute.

Speaking of cute, we have started Austin on Cereal. He's reached the milestones to start cereal and the dr said it was ok to. For the first week I fed him at 11am so that I could watch him throughout the day to make sure he was ok. Yesterday he got the cereal a little later in the day and today was back at 11am. I took video of his first cereal adventure. He wasn't a fan of the cereal, but couldn't stop shoving the brightly colored octopus and starfish bib in his mouth. Whenever the spoon wasn't there, the bib was. He is doing great though and I'm predicting more than a 1lbs weight gain when we go to the dr's on friday.

On Friday we got Austin's baptism outfit. absoloutely.freakin.adorable!!! It's white satin material. the pants have white satin suspenders, there is a white satin dress shirt, white satin vest, white satin bow tie and a matching white satin hat. I can't wait to dress him in it. Although I think we may have to hem the pant legs up a bit. the waist was just a smidgen big when we tried it on him last night but the legs were really long. I have to check our dresser drawer but I think we also need to find some shoes for him. The store we got the suit from only had white girls' shoes so we will need to go looking for something. I am about 99.9% sure I am also getting baptised that day. No one that we sent the invites out to knows about it but I figure why not. I'm very excited to have my family coming to church that day. the praise team at church is doing a double set (a performance of songs at the beginning and the ending of church) and Dave's family is performing. I can't wait for my family to see them and see just how good they are. It will be a very special sunday for us and they will be taping it so that will be great.

Anyways, I need to go to bed now. I'm soooo exhausted and know that Austin will be up in just a few short hours for a bottle. Good night everyone.

One Year ago today.

One Year ago today was the day we found out we were pregnant.

Dave was on nights. I had waited all day for my period to show up and it wasn't there. I was talking to dave on the phone and telling him that it wasn't here yet. We both agreed that if it still wasn't there by the morning we would do a pregnancy test. Well, Dave got home at 2am and was just so excited we could be pregnant I tested then.

We sat in the bathroom waiting for the results and Dave was the one who noticed the second line starting. My first thought when dave said "I see a second line" was Wait! I'm not ready yet!!! I don't know why. We were really excited to start our family but for some reason I felt like that. It went away after about 30 seconds though.

The next thing we did was call Tawnie. Yes, it was 2:30 in the morning but I knew she wouldn't mind being woken up. I had to call twice to wake her up. When she answered the only thing I said was I see two pink lines. I had to repeat it about 3 times before she figured it out then she started screaming with excitement.

Dave got up at 9am to go to the drug store to get another test just to be sure (the second line was pretty faint) and when there was a second line on it we decided to go to the clinic to find out for sure.

Here we are one year later with our beautiful baby, almost 4 months old. Next thing I know he's going to be turning 1!!!!
