Good morning blog readers!! We are at the beginning of day 2 of our trip. I've been told that today will have a lot of beautiful scenery so expect some pics. I've also been told by 2 different people that stopping at old woman's bay is a must as it's beautiful.

I'm writing this while laying in bed, unable to sleep. Lol. I've hit my 6 hours of sleep mark and my back is starting to hurt. Also, I'm paranoid about someone showing up and stealing all our stuff since you know, I'm a crazy worrier like that. Lol I've been up every 1 1/2 to 2 hours, looking out the window then going back to bed. Yes, I have a problem. As I start to write this it's only 530 in the morning.

I'll recap yesterday for you. (unless you were reading my twitter then you got quite a few updates!!) First, aunt penny and ashley showed up at my moms to say goodbye. Ashley brought me some of the cupcakes she made for her kindergarten class. They were.... Sweet. Lol (you know I love you ash, but you really do need taste buds to make icing) of course, there was a round of crying as goodbye's were said. We fiinished packing up the last of the stuff and headed to dave's parents. I left dave, his dad and brother to jenga the rest of the stuff in. My mom left, and there were lots of tears, dave's mom left, and there were some more tears, (and she even tried to cheer me up with the reminder of shopping next week!!) Then we finally got everything organized and ready to go. Dave's brother Brian and wife Korrinne left, of course some tears, we said bye to dave's dad and Devon (who was taking austin for the day) and a lot more tears. I was fine saying bye to austin until we were in the truck and he waved and said perfectly clear, "bye" He was also saying daddy a lot yesterday, which was awesome because he hasn't said it much before with dave being gone. After that we headed to my dad's for our last goodbye and more tears. Then, we were on the road.

Our first stop was the neccessary tim hortons. Lol I approached a random stranger about letting me put a magnet on his car for my support for ashley cross canada tour. He was awesome about it and even knew where we were moving to in alberta! Things were going great until we hit traffic just north of our (old) city. We sat in the first bbit of construction forever. I would easily say 30 min. We got through that and within 30 min we were stopped for construction again, this time much quicker. Then we drove... And drove. Lol I didn't get too many pictures because to be honest a lot of it looked like stuff I'd see up by my cottage. So I didn't. Our next actual stop was for lunch at McDonalds. Just something quick we could eat while driving since we had lost time with construction. I napped through sudbury. Had a nice hour long nap. There really wasn't anything too exciting after that. Pulled into our hotel in sault ste marie just before 8pm. Put on the tv, ordered a (yummy) pizza then I used the hotel's free wifi and surfed for a bit. Quite a boring night.

Well, we're moving now and going to get on the road!

The day has come

Good morning blog readers. I am up bright and early. Wanted to say goodbye to my step dad before he heads off to work, and well, I'm still up. Plus, I spend the last few hours... ok, I've spent all the hours since attempting to go to bed tossing and turning. At least I can sleep in the car.

Today is the big day, all our stuff is packed and ready to go. Truck is in tip top shape and the In Laws car is cleaned out and ready to be returned. For the past few months, I've had this song stuck in my head.

The song is for a different reason then mine, but still. I'm Alberta Bound. Crazy. Every time I think about it I sing this song (maybe because it's the only song I know with Alberta in it?? haha!)

Still, I wonder what it will be like. Will I freeze this winter? I went all last winter without a coat because I'm always hot, but this might be a whole different winter for me. Ok, I know it will be a whole different winter for me. lol.

I've been trying not to think about this whole thing too much. I've been packing up boxes to store things to make our house look uncluttered, packing to get ready to move, packing all of the house to move in with my mom..... The packing hasn't fazed me. The fact that I've packed everything up at my mom's and loaded the truck doesn't faze me. We will see how I do this morning.

I'm not going to lie, I'm nervous about our trip. This may be the ultimate test of marriage here. haha! Forget the fact that we've lived apart for most of the past year and a half. It was trying and so very difficult at times, but I have a feeling this trip might be the major test. To say it mildly, my husband can be stubborn. In his mind he knows what he's going to do. Forget if he's wrong or you want to veer off that course. So, he's done this drive before. I can guarantee he's already gotten his stops planned, and the nights planned. (and he's planned it's going to take 3 days...) I can guarantee that I'm going to disrupt that plan. haha! I want to see this country (and will try to stay awake as long as possible) and I want to make some stops. Plus, I have a ridiculously small bladder, so I would say I'm going to be getting familiar with quite a few of the bathrooms across Canada. We're also going to be alone. No kid, no other people. I can't remember the last time we've been alone, just the 2 of us, in an enclosed space for multiple days. This should be fun. lol. I will however be posting from the road and updating my twitter through text message. I just figured out how to add pictures to my tweets so I will make sure to document well on my way!!

I also have the magnets I made for Ashley, with the Violet Ribbon that say "Be strong, be brave, we are fighting with you" I've decided to get pics and randomly put the magnets places, and documenting where in Canada the support for Ashley is. (FYI, if you randomly end up with a magnet on your car.... sorry. hahaha!!!)

As you can tell i'm trying to make this trip as fun as possible to avoid tears. Like I said I will be updating quite a bit, and for now I'm signing off, I've been working on this for a few hours now.

4 Days

Wait, 4 Days?!?!?! Holy smokes, 4 days until I move to Alberta. This week is going to be filled with all the last minute details and packing everything I moved over to my mom's in baskets. since we don't need it anymore it's time to pack it up to move!
Wednesday we are having a bon voyage dinner at a restaurant and I'm going to try really hard not to cry. I'm not guaranteeing anything though. haha!
I am currently trying to finish a blog post with pictures and details from Austin's Birthday party. There are a lot of pictures so it's been taking me a while.

Aaaaannnnnndddddddd it's here!

Alright, finally after 4 upload attempts the video is done. yay!!

Enjoy! I will be getting the pics up and online shortly!

Video!

It is coming, I swear! I started to upload it but then got really tired since you tube said it would take 115 minutes to upload I just went to bed. Then, the next day I started to upload it and a little trouble maker got under the desk and shut off the modem. I am uploading as we speak though and should have the video up shortly (or aprox 91 minutes per youtube.)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I'll start this post by saying, I'm thankful for pumpkin pie. Haha, I do love me some pie. With copius amounts of whipped cream. It's something that can't be beat. mmm mmm mmmmmmmm.

Anyways. lol. It's been quite the week. Very very busy around the mama bird's house. She's started her daycare so not only is Austin here but 3-4 other kids each day. eeks! Austin has become quite protective of me and actually ran over to me when Logan touched my foot one day.

We are rapidly approaching 2.... and the terrible 2's. Today I was ready to commit myself. He had me pulling out my hair and wanting a padded room all before 9am. I think that is a pretty good record. haha!

I promise to at least have a video of Austin eating his cake at his birthday up here tomorrow, since it's currently uploading on you tube, but I have over 100 min left to wait for it to be ready. I am thinking bed is in my near future here. On that note, I will update tomorrow!

WHAT A WEEKEND

Whew. I need to catch up on everything. We are all moved out of our house and now we are in my mom's basement. I have to say that sharing a room with Austin isn't really all that fun. lol. We're both just sleeping on mattresses on the floor. Thank goodness for that some days. Austin likes to keep rolling off the bed, so it's a short landing to the floor but of course he whines and cries. Our first night was rough. I had forgotten Austin's night light at our house (since we stayed at moms a few days early) and he was up a few times and scared of the dark. At one point I went to his bed to calm him and find he wasn't even in bed. He got up and tried to find me and was standing in the corner crying. My poor baby. The other thing that has been a bit of an adjustment is the new wake up time. I probably notice it more since we're in the same room. This morning he stood at the door to our room (which I have a baby gate across the door) and was sad because papa was leaving for work. Well papa leaves for work around 5:30am!!! I'm slightly afraid of the wake up times once we move. Alberta is 2 hours difference from us, so that would mean he was up at 3:30 in the morning. no.thank.you.

Yesterday we had a fun birthday party for Austin. Sadly, my camera battery was dead so I didn't get too many shots. that definately makes me sad. Everyone had a great time and Austin loved playing outside with his cousins and friends. Since I am at my mom's place I am going to upload the pictures to my computer then plug it into her internet connection instead of trying to upload them to her computer.
We did have some nice family pics done last weekend. Here is a little sneak peek. I think I am going to take Austin down to the lake and get some pictures of him in the next few weeks before we go.
A big thank you to my cousin Kiley who took these pics and to my cousin Sarah who followed through with the idea of family picture day. I can't wait to see the rest of the pictures!

Happy October

Hello Everyone!

Happy October. I think I want a do-over on September because I didn't really get a chance to experience it. With all the house selling stuff the month just flew by! Sadly, I'm doing a count down for this month too, because at the end of this month we are headed to Alberta. I've just signed up with a few mom's groups in hopes that I can get out and meet some new people. Overall I'm kind of excited.

I will be posting more updates as I know, tonight I'm trying not to fall asleep while typing.
