we're sick. I started to get a sore throat the day Dave left for up north. a week later the sore throat went away and I started to lose my voice, get a runny nose and bad cough.
Today I was starting to feel normal. (10 days later) and by the end of the day both the kids have crazy runny noses, sneezing, and coughing. Oh and my throat is starting to hurt again. I mean come on!
So we've just hung out inside keeping our germs to ourselves. sigh.

And he's gone
Dave is gone back up north to work. The bad news is he's not here. Austin is a bit older and understands more. Yes, he understands that daddy is away at work and will be back, but he also understands daddy won't be here for a while.
The good news is that the expected end date for this job is June 2014. So for the next 2 years he has a job. Woo hoo!
It's back to airport pick ups and one week together then two weeks apart but I'm sure we'll settle into our routine again in no time.

Our weekend
This weekend we did a mommy son day. Thanks to our friend Sue for the idea. She hadn't been able to do much with just her son so she suggested the water park. Mackenzie got to stay home with daddy while Austin and I joined Sue and her son at the water park Austin had a blast and we did quite a few stairs to go to the water slides. We played in the wave pool, the splash pad, and enjoyed some lunch. I am so glad we had the opportunity to h e a mommy son day.

Wordless Wednesday
Today is Austin's last day of the playschool program we put him in. As a thank you he picked this out for his teacher and I made the flags
Now, I had panned on getting a nice pot to put it in and actually cut out the thanks, but I totally forgot he had school today until 10 minutes before it started. I'd say that's a pretty awesome job for about 7 minutes work!

3 months old
My baby girl is now 3 months old. She's babbling and smiling now. She is pulling her head and shoulders off the ground to try and sit up. I think in the next few days she's going to find her 2 newest playthings - her feet. She's been grabbing at her knees so I know the feet are next. She has also started chewing on her hands and will grab at toys on her play mat.
But that smile. Oh the smile just melts my heart every time.

Here she is trying to sit up. Shortly after she succeeded and rolled forwards. lol.

The Plague
There has been a plague in our house. First, I got a fever of 102 and felt nauseous. The next day I felt just fine stomach wise, but had a horrible headache that almost reached migraine level.
Then yesterday? I was sick. I haven't eaten much in 2 days. the very little I ate yesterday came back up. So far today 2 pancakes managed to stay in there. Hooray for small miracles. It's now 6:30 and while I'm actually feeling pretty good, I'm deciding if I want to risk eating anything.
And now, Dave has it. I'm still trying to figure out if this is what Austin has last week when he decided not to eat for 2 days, or if he's going to get it. And Mackenzie... well. I hope she doesn't get it.
I am still breast feeding and worried about the lack of nutrients she is getting seeing as I've eaten nothing. I've notice she is feeding more often and not for as long. Out of desperation yesterday I pulled some frozen milk out for her. She would not take a bottle. She screamed and fought me for 2 hours last night and I could only get her to eat 2 oz. By then she was exhausted from the fighting and passed out. She seems pretty irritated and isn't really napping today. Which sucks, honestly. Sigh.
Anyways. These past few days all I keep thinking about is Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet.
A Plague on both your houses!!!
Which then begs the questions, who is the other house? Because I want to send them a big ol bouquet of Pepto Bismol.
